The $hared Interest In Music

We have all heard the “downloading music is wrong” speech from anti file sharing campaign ads, record label executives, and of course from artists themselves. You expect it. You understand it. But it seems most generally ignore it. Which is why we are even more bewildered by many universities strict policies against illegally downloading shared music files. Unless you go to  YALE .

But did you know that many universities have their backs against the wall when it comes to being the piracy police. I found out that the Higher Education Act of 2008 requiers that schools have strict plans in place for dealing with and preventing illegal file sharing and much more information I have published here (White Paper)

What was most shocking about the research I did, was how many studentsd don’t believe that downloading illegaly is really “stealing.” Try explaing that to the cops the next time your caught walking out of a store with merchandise you have not paid for.
